Bee Stop is a green roof created for Holloway Road in Archway, which seeks to explore alternative methods of growing within urban sites. Working alongside Aldingbourne Nurseries, Margot Bannerman’s mini meadow was planted with a variety of resilient, nectar rich wild-flowers and plants that would be beneficial to the increasingly threatened bee population. Sited above a bustling shopping parade, Bee stop questions our notions of green space by creating a micro-environment that maximises unique but often overlooked spaces created through urban development.
