This study provides one of the most detailed examinations of prosecutors’ experiences with body-worn camera (BWC) footage to date.
Using descriptive analyses and structural equations modeling, it investigates how operational challenges with BWC footage affect prosecutors’ usage and perceived utility.
Poor footage quality and delayed video transfers can limit the usefulness of BWC footage, reducing its formal usage in court.
Its implications and policy recommendations are discussed.
