Research shows that the United Nations (UN) General Assembly holds commemorative sessions to celebrate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). These sessions provide valuable insights into the UDHR as a legal text over time, highlighting its fluidity and continuity. By analyzing anniversary days in the General Assembly, we can gain a deeper understanding of engagements with the UDHR from the twentieth to the twenty-first centuries. This approach reveals the untapped potential of anniversary days as a resource for international human rights lawyers.
